Sanding a hardwood floor is a multi-step process, which may be difficult for you to understand initially. However, as you will go on reading, you will know what mistakes to avoid and what beginner should do. The guideline is given below:

• Pick Up the Best Sand Hardwood Floor Sequence

Sanding the hardwood floor takes at least four passes, in which each level brings shine and illumination to your floor. 24-grit sandpaper is suggested to you for sanding your hardwood floor. It is the best sandpaper for the floors that have not been sanded over 30 years of period of time.

You may choose other grits as well depending upon the condition and age of your hardwood floor. Here is a rough guideline on different grits available:

• 12 grit: It is suitable for floor that has multiple layers of the grit.

• 16 grit: It is the most suited to the floors that have shellac finishes or the one layer of paint.

• 36 grit: It is starting grit for the floors that have been recently installed.

• 60 grit: It is not a starting grit for the hardwood floor. Rather, it is a grit for removing the scratches off the grit 36.

• 80 grit: Takes out grit scratches of the 60 grit, but does not remove wood or finish.

• 100 grit: It takes out the scratches of the 60 or 80 grit scratch.

• Honest and Proper Assessment of the Hardwood Floor

You must assess your hardwood floor in the honest and proper manner. If your assessments of the condition of your floor are incorrect, the entire procedure of the DIY sanding would fetch no excellent result. • Sanding the Hardwood Floor

• You should sand the all four areas of your hardwood floor with sand drummer and your determined sand grit.
• You must use the edger on the areas where the sand paper could not reach.
• You must sweep or vacuum all areas of the hardwood floor.
• You must use the drum sander once again on all main field areas on the next grit.
• Use the edger again.
• You should repeat the process from iii to v until you reach the 100 grit.
• You must use the radiator edger for sanding now.
• You may scrape all the edges around the pipes or radiator feet.
• Inspect the room, and remove any edges by hand-sanding
• You may use the pole sander of buffer from grit 100 to 120.
• You must sweep and vacuum the entire area.
• Now, you should use microfiber mop or any other cloth for removing any remaining dust from the floor.
