Solid hardwood flooring installing tips
1.Solid hardwood flooring can be bought to your choice and tastes, meeting your budget. But, bear in mind that the best of the wood flooring also will react to moisture presence.
2. In the heating months or dry winter, moisture leaves the wood and this results in wood contraction. Thus, it can leave gaps between each plank. In the summer months, as the humidity is higher you will notice the gaps disappearing and this is because the wood expands on absorbing excess moisture.
3. At the same time with much moisture the wood planks should be buckled. Thus, it is very important to install a wood floor or to acclimate the wood for 4 to 7 days to the home. Even leaving the expansion gap as it is before installation around the perimeter and fixed objects is finished.
4.Keep the relative humidity level at 30-50% or as per the recommendation of the manufacturer. This will help in reducing any further movement within the wood flooring.
Wherever you are in this journey of floor buying, installation has a vital role in decision-making. Consider who will install, where and how it will be installed. These things will affect your timeline and budget.
