Sanding and Finishing the Project

Having sanded the wooden material lightly, you must sweep the place and clean it completely. Then, the staircase must be vacuumed in order to do away with dirt and dust.

Next, stain and finishing would be applied on the staircase. Stain would darken the wood as when wet. Finishing will also darken the wood a bit, giving it a nicer and elegant look. You must choose the combination of the stain and finish that suits your house décor and theme.

Tip: You can keep the tone of the staircase darker as any stains, dirt and scratches won’t be prominent then.
